Our story

From a one-off admin tool to a platform built for the whole UK trades industry.

HiveSuite didn't start as a polished product. It started as a simple custom-built tool made to help just one business cut down their admin time - clunky layout, limited scope, never intended for public use.

But even in that early version, something became clear: the problem wasn't unique. Across the country, small teams and contractors were facing the same headaches. That realisation changed everything.

What started as a workaround for one business became a full rebuild - a platform covering the entire workflow end to end, from first contact to final payment, used by contractors across England, Scotland, and Wales. And we're still shipping new features every month, driven entirely by feedback from the businesses using it.

Before HiveSuite, Liam ran the office side of a UK trades business - managing quotes, chasing invoices, coordinating jobs, and trying to make three separate tools talk to each other. He knew the problem wasn't the people; it was the software. So he built something better.

2023

One business, one problem

Built for one trades business and never intended for public use. A custom tool to cut down on paperwork - clunky, limited, but it worked.

2024

The first version ships

Talking to other contractors made the pattern obvious - this wasn't one business's problem, it was everyone's. NXPortal launched as the first external version.

2025

HiveSuite is born

A full ground-up rebuild with a new name and a sharper focus: one platform for the whole UK trades workflow, end to end.

Why we exist

Running a trade business on three tools isn't a system. It's a patchwork.

We heard the same story too many times. An electrician managing jobs in WhatsApp, sending invoices from a free tool that didn't talk to his diary, and doing his books on a spreadsheet on Sunday evenings.

That's not running a business - that's spending your off-time fixing a system that was never designed to work together. HiveSuite was built to replace the patchwork with one thing that does it all.
