The right software depends on how you quote, schedule work, communicate with customers and collect payment. Compare those workflows before treating a price or feature count as a verdict.

HiveSuite combines customer records, quotes, invoices, HivePlanner scheduling, HiveCrew assignments, document templates, inventory, a Customer Portal and HiveIntel reporting.
SMS is now available: customer conversations, approved templates, business-hour scheduling, delivery tracking and configured quote, invoice, job and staff notifications. Sending requires a paid plan, credits and permission. Two-way replies require an additional paid dedicated UK number; a business-name sender is one-way.
The Finance Ledger is also available: track income and expenses, attach or scan receipts, view VAT reports and export records. Accounting connections and workspace configuration determine which data is synchronised.

Compare this with each vendor's actual plan, user roles, tax treatment and billing commitment. Add messaging, payment processing, onboarding and external services where applicable. An annual offer and a flexible monthly plan are different purchasing decisions.
For a sole trader, a small plan may be enough. For a team, check whether each person needs full administrative access or only field access. Do not assume a crew seat provides every admin capability.

Prepare a quote, get it approved, assign the work, send an update and produce the final invoice. Test customer access and the field team's devices, then check your required reports and accounting hand-off.
